For his biology class, John has been making a bug collection. His assignment was to collect 50 insects representing at least 10 different orders. For the last month or so, everyone has been much more observant of bugs! We have noticed them just about everywhere. John has hunted at home, at the BYU bell tower at night, in fields, near ponds, and up the canyon. Yesterday while he was putting the final touches on his project, Will was playing the tunes from his ipod on our computer. All of a sudden, a very appropriate song came on: "The Ugly Bug Ball" from the movie Summer Magic starring (among others) Haley Mills and Burl Ives. We had a good laugh about it. That is quite a project. I don't think I would like collecting bugs but the song is one of our favorites.
If I could stand being 50 feet away from a bug, I would think that was cool. But I can't stand bugs- they scare me to death and gross me out. I know that sounds girly and silly, but it's true. I have to admit that is pretty fascinating! Way to go John!
