Anatomy

John, Paul, Robert, and Jacob are taking an anatomy class from another homeschooling mom in our area. They have learned a lot about different body systems and with nearly each system they have done a dissection. This month the kids learned about the brain and had the opportunity to dissect a sheep's grey matter. I'm grateful I wasn't the one to host this class! They have also dissected chicken feet, pig eyeballs, and chicken bones. They have heard several lectures from professional health care providers. After every class the boys do a write-up in their lab books and they have plenty of cool facts to share with the rest of us.

That is very cool, but I don't think I'd want to do that at my house. I'm sure my boys would love it though. It looks like a lot of fun.

That is so...awesome! I wonder if I would or would not like to be part of this class. It would certainly be very fun to watch, but I don't know about doing it!

Dear Jared, Julia, William, John, Paul, Robert, Jacob, Sarah, Elizabeth, and David,

Hi! We miss you. We enjoyed looking at your blog. Glad Jared could join you at the zoo--what a treat. And what a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick's day. We had green oatmeal. We saw bagpipes and stuff when we were in Scotland and thought of John (and all of you).

We finally got around to going on the Oxford walk from the book you gave us for Christmas. It was along the River Thames. We enjoyed it so much! The sun was shining and it was beautiful, peaceful, interesting. We saw and heard lots of different kinds of birds. We saw some really good rowers. And we saw one not-so-good rower crash into the side of the river and tip over and get soaked. We saw a boat going through a lock. It was wonderful and we wouldn't have done it without your book. So thank you! We liked it so much, we're going to go again.

Love you all, Jan
