Summer Fun, Summer Not

Our Summer Fun started with the Block Party. Since then we have had lots of summer fun activities, like Summer Marching Band for Will and John, Summer Concert Band for Paul, Driver's Education and getting a learner's permit for Will, fishing at Deer Creek for Jared and the kids, a Jim Brickman concert for Jared and Julia, working on Tech Crew at Timpview High School for Will, Youth Conference for Jared, Will, John, and Paul, Scottish Festival for John (he won 1st place in his division on the pipes and 2nd place overall for Grade IV), Speaking in Sacrament Meeting and giving the Deacon's Quorum lesson the same day for John, music lessons for everybody, Orem City Parade, Boating with the neighbor for Jared, Paul, Robert, and Jacob, Field Trip to the hospital (follow-up from anatomy class) for John, Robert, and Jacob, Cub Scout Day Camp for Julia, Robert, and Jacob, a Chico Stake reunion, and LOTS of playing for Sarah, Elizabeth, and David.

Our Summer Not activities include trips to the dentist and orthodontist, muscle strains from running and biking, sunburn, bug bites, allergies, stinky pipes, van's check engine light, ACT Test for Will, going to the foot doctor, Robert having a huge allergic reaction to cantaloupe, Jacob having asthma, and our family not owning a pool!

And we aren't even 3 weeks into summer yet! Still coming up this month we have Paul's band performance, Webelos Day Camp, the Strawberry Days parade, Robert's 10th birthday and party, Paul taking an oil painting class, Grandma and Grandpa Paulson coming to visit, a huge family reunion that Julia is in charge of, Silver Moccasin staff meetings for Will and John, more Tech Crew and Summer Band, Scouts and Mutual, and the Provo Children's Parade. Whew!

What an awesome family you have. I would gladly trade cooking with you for gardening. I hate cooking and I'm terrible at it. We have been having fun too but two weeks have already passed and it will go too quickly. I can tell. We need to get our kids together. Henry is allergic to canteloupe and watermelon. I learned that it is a pollen allergy. I hate allergies. My three kids all suffer from asthma from one degree to another. It's crazy. Good luck.
