Robert, age 3 monthsI can't believe it's been a whole decade since Robert joined our family. The night before he was born, I was reading my scriptures. I just happened to be reading about Jared in the Book of Ether (in the Book of Mormon). It was talking about the four sons of Jared and how the fourth son was named Orihah and became a righteous king over the Jaredites. Jared and I were about to have our fourth son and Jared always mentioned the name "Orihah" when we discussed what to name our kids. I had already decided that our baby's first name would be Robert (after my dad) but I then figured that if we gave him the middle name of Orihah that would be okay. His initials would spell "ROO" which is probably the best combination of any letter of the alphabet followed by "OO" that you could get.

The next day, June 22nd, Robert was born at Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah. My mom and sister were able to see his birth. Shortly thereafter, I discovered that "Robert" means "bright" and "Orihah" means "light." Robert has definitely been a bright light in our family. He has a wonderful smile and a zest for life. He enjoys being out in nature, reading, studying biology and botany, computers, and thinking.

I wish I could be there, but them again, I am coming to Utah in August. That is so cool, both the initals of his name and what his name means.
That is so cool! I never knew that was his middle name. Those are so cool connections! Happy B-day Robert! I can't wait to see the fourth of July post! (I hope you'll do one!) Can't wait to see you!
