Time to Relax

Jared and I had the awesome opportunity to go to Hawaii together for a week with no kids. We travelled with the people from Jared's engineering firm, so there was absolutely NO work pressure. We had a ton of fun. We stayed on the island of Oahu at the Marriott Ihilani Resort in Ko Olina. We snorkeled, kayaked in the ocean, rode on a sailboat, swam, ate, slept, drove around the island, went to Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial on Veterans' Day, toured the Battleship USS Missouri, visited the LDS Temple in Laie, checked out the bookstore at BYU-Hawaii, spent a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center, hiked in Waimea Valley (photos coming in next entry), got shave ice at Matsumoto's, spent some time in Waikiki, had games and a big luau with the people from work (who are very nice), and took almost 700 pictures! Don't worry--I didn't put them all on here : )

This was the view from our lanai--fabulous!!

Famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice (WAY TOO SWEET!)

If anyone deserves a week off in Hawaii without kids it is you. That looks so wonderful. I've never been there but maybe someday. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Congratulations!

How fun this must have been for you two. Especially without the kids :)
