Waimea Valley

Our last day in Hawaii, Jared and I drove around the island and stopped in Waimea Valley. There is a little hike (paved trail, mostly flat) through a gorgeous and huge botanical garden which ends at a pretty waterfall. As we walked through the garden, we kept taking pictures and commenting that we thought Robert would be in biologist heaven in this place. By the time we got to the waterfall, it was raining a bit, so we waited under a canopy for about 15 minutes. By then it wasn't just raining, it was dumping. We decided to walk back anyway, and by the time we arrived at the car we were soaked to the skin, as though we had gone swimming in our clothes--shoes, hats, and all. By the time we got to the car it had also quit raining. Of course! Still, it was one of the highlights of our trip for me and definitely worth the downpour.

Gorgeous! Lovely! Exquisite and divine! I saw some of the exact same flowers in Bali.
